Here are some grammar rules for our first post:

1) Double space breaks after a few sentences to make this easy to read.

2) Verb tense--write this in past tense and check verb tense along the way.

3) Introductory commas--any sentence with an introductory clause that says where, when, why, how (an adverbial clause) needs a comma after it.

While I set the table, my mother cooked dinner.

4) Subject/verb agreement--Make sure singular subjects match up with singular verbs.

Dogs run fast in a neighborhood. A dog runs away from its owner.

With past tense, this usually doesn't matter.

A dog ran away from its owner Two dogs ran away from their owner.
